How it Works
The Heat Genie is used to transfer heat from the stove to the heating system without the need for gravity circuits to hot water cylinders, heat leak radiators, or buffer tanks.
In the examples 2 radiator zones and 1 domestic hot water zone is shown. An example of this in an average domestic house would be
- living area/downstairs radiators
- Bedroom area/upstairs radiators
- Domestic hot water cylinder.
These zones are then supplied by the gas boiler and stove.
The Heat Genie transfers heat from the stove to the heating system indirectly. This means the water in the stove, the water in the central heating system, and the water in the cooling circuit never mix. It also provides a heat leak on gravity for the stove should the electricity cut occur.
We show a pumped zoning manifold as the method of interlinking the entire heating system, which is a superior method of zoning and boiler link-up. The Heat Genie though is also compatible with the motorized zone valve method for link-up. This allows the heat Genie to be totally flexible and suitable for both retrofit and new-builds.
This diagram shows how the solid fuel boiler is used to heat any of your heating zones through the Heat Genie. The Plate Heat Exchanger technology allows for the easy integration of a solid fuel boiler into a sealed heating system.
This stage of safety is the thermal valve that operates without electricity in a purely mechanical way.
The valve has a probe at the end of a capillary tube that detects 95C water temperature and via the capillary tube opens the valve.
This allows us to take in cold water through the Heat Genie effetively sucking the heat out of the solid fuel thermosyphon loop and in turn raising the temperature of the incoming cold water and then delivers it out safely to the drain.
This is a very rare event and will only happen in cases of electrical power failure, at all other times the electricity is on and allows the pumps in the system to dissipate the heat.
